This week I had an interview with the veteran rapper, Prezzo. He updated me on the year he had had so far telling me that he was "a day at a time" type of person.

"It's been good so far. I take every day as it comes. I believe if something is destined to be, it will be. I am basically playing my part in God's green earth."

Was his decision to take a back seat on the entertainment scene this year intentional? "It's as is. I take anything that comes along my way. Sometimes I don't even realise that I have been out of the scene for too long because every day is a different hurdle, it's a different struggle."

What is Prezzo doing on a normal day from dusk to dawn? "Basically, I am a businessman. Like I cannot pinpoint this is what I do but I am just into business. I run a couple of the family businesses and a couple of my own."

Were he to win the Kibera MCA seat he was campaigning for next year, would he stop singing? "Bridges like those are best to cross when you get to them. I don't want to say something and then later on it backfires on me."

"For me, music is in my blood. I just have a new song with Otile out today and it's breaking the internet. There is no other artist I started with that is as relevant or as popular as I am. If we call a spade a spade and not be in denial."

He finished off by saying that his musical journey will add up in the future, "For me, all these things that I am putting in the music industry will come to make sense."
