Nairobi Matatu Operators Chairman Jimal Ibrahim, popularly known as Jimal Roho Safi is eyeing the governorship seat in Nairobi county.
Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke, Jimal said he envisions improving the transport sector and create job opportunities for the youths.
Jimal has been with the Matatu industry for the last 11 years and served as the Association of matatu operation chairman for the last five years.
"There is a big problem in the transport department but since I have already understood the problems people face, I will be in a better position to govern the city," he said.
He explained that Nairobi city needs a good manager who understands what most people go through.
"This city cannot be managed by an old person. I am 30 years and as a youth, I interact with most of them on a daily basis and I understand what they go through before they earn a living."
Other issues he mentioned are inadequacy of water, good health care services and creating job opportunities.
"We have old people who only seat in their offices and rarely understands what is happening on the ground."
He said he will hike the parking fees and make all matatu's efficient for all Nairobians.
"This will decongest the city. The city is congested by personal cars and for people to use public vehicles, they must be reliable and clean."
He added that he has been in communication with the former governor Mike Sonko and has promised to support him.
