• Justina said that a big part of the bill was settled by Kenyans who live abroad.
2020 hitmaker Justina Syokau is off the hook after settling a Ksh 2 million hospital bill.
In May this year, the singer appealed to members of the public to help her settle the bill that arose from her sudden illness in January.
Speaking exclusively to Mpasho, Justina said that a big part of the bill was settled by Kenyans who live abroad.
"Many people from abroad supported me. My fan base from the diaspora gave me the millions. Someone would contribute like 20k or 40k. I did not get a lot of money from Kenyans here at home," she said.
Other than the support from the diaspora, Justina was also salvaged by preacher Rev Lucy Natasha.
"Natasha also fundraised for me in her Facebook broadcast. I had an accrued bill of close to 4.7 million. The hospital settled 2.7, leaving me with 2 Million."
Currently, Justina says she has made good progress and is back to her feet.
She visits the hospital regularly for phototherapy sessions and has special medication to apply to her skin.
The singer was hospitalized early this year after a wrong diagnosis that damaged her liver.
