Actress Mama Nyaguthii has praised the late Charles Bukeko alias Papa Shirandula for believing in her.

According to Mama Nyaguthii, he gave her a chance on Papa Shirandula because he had seen her act in the theatre back in the day.

Mama Nyaguthii was speaking exclusively to Mpasho during the first memorial of Papa Shirandula held at Pride Inn, Azure.

"The impact he had on my life is quite big.

I am who I am because of him. The fame I enjoy is because of Papa Shirandula.

Having seen me grow up from a young girl at the theatre he looked for me to give me the role of 'Mama Nyaguthii.' He loved us and treated us like his kids. Even though he is gone I have memories of him.

Mama Nyaguthii added' A week to his death we were working on the project called 'Mzee ni Wewe'."

It's a show about elderly people living in a home, Shirandula was one of the people and I was the one running the home.

It's sad he won't see his project run.
