Sauti Sol's Polycarp Otieno and his wife have narrated the experience of having their first born son born in a home water birth.

The guitarist shared a video of his wife Amanda in labour, preparing for a water birth on a Saturday morning.

"WE DID A HOME BIRTH! And it was the most magical experience in my entire life thus far. Empowering, Enlightening and Life Changing. Women are just super human beings. Respect them to the fullest. Love them. Cherish them," wrote Polycarp.

In the video, the expectant mother was groaning, as her husband and midwife supported her.

On why she chose to give birth at home, Amanda said;

"It felt so right. It felt like it was just the right thing to do. I wanted to feel like i could allow my body to do what it is meant to do."

Before the d-day, the couple underwent training on how to go about a water birth at home from a midwife.

The mother of one said that the pregnancy journey, especially through the Covid-19 pandemic was full of challenges.

"On your first pregnancy, everything is just foreign and weird, and you are just discovering something new every single day," she said.

For Amanda, the best moment was when the nurse told her that she could see the baby's head.

On the other hand, Polycarp said that he can not forget the feeling of holding his son on the chest soon after the birth.
