Rapper Nicki Minaj has opened up about losing her father after a hit and run on February 13, 2021.

In a letter to fans posted on her website, the mother of one said that she was not ready to dive much into the devastating loss of her father.

According to Nicki, the incident left her broken, missing her father, and yearning to call him always.

"Tho I can't really bring myself to discuss the passing of my father as yet; I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life," the 38-year-old wrote. "I find myself wanting to call him all the time. More so now that he's gone. Life is funny that way," Wrote Nicki.

"May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed," she continued.

64-year-old Robert Maraj was killed in a hit and run on Long Island while walking on the roadway at around 6:15 PM.

After hitting Maraj, 74-year-old Charles Polevich got out of his car to check on him before fleeing the scene.

“He got out of the car and he looked at the deceased, got into his car, and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialing 911," read a police statement.

Minaj's mother, Carole Maraj filed a $150 million lawsuit against the driver holding him responsible for her husband's death.
