Class five pupil stabs father to death, goes missing

Police are pursuing a class five pupil who went missing after stabbing his father to death in Nyamira county.

The Pupil from a primary school Nyamira North Sub County, Nyamira County went into hiding after fatally attacking 45-year-old Benard Nyangáu, with a kitchen knife for beating him up during a domestic altercation.

Nyamira North sub County Police commander, Patrick Ngeiywa said Preliminary investigations into the incident indicated that the boy ambushed his unsuspecting father while he was taking dinner.

He told KNA that prior to the tragic incident the deceased had severely disciplined his son for hurting her kid sister during a scuffle between the siblings on Wednesday.

“The boy was disciplined by his deceased father for fighting with his kid sister during the day on the said Wednesday and it is like the boy was angered by his father’s action. While they were having supper, the boy secretary took their kitchen knife and stabbed his unsuspecting father on his back near his left shoulder.” Officer Ngeiywa said.

“The deceased was rushed to Kericho Referral Hospital the same night where he was treated and discharged the same night to recuperate at home.” Ngeiywa narrated.

The officer said yesterday at around noon when Hellen Moraa, wife to the deceased went to their bedroom to check on how the husband was fairing on, she was shocked to find his lifeless body.

“His brother accompanied by other family members took the body of the deceased to Kinara private Hospital Mortuary in Nyamira town.” Confirmed Ngeiywa.

He told KNA that when officers visited the home of the deceased, they managed to recover a kitchen Knife which they suspect was used by the boy to stab his father for it was blood-stained though the boy has already fled into hiding but stated that they will pursue him until he is arrested.
