American RnB singer Ashanti has tested positive for COVID-19.

The artist, who was recently on vacation in Kenya, revealed that she tested positive just before her highly anticipated Versus battle with Keysha Cole.

She shared the sad news through her Instagram account in a post which read:

'Hey, y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for covid-19. I’m okay and not in any pain.’ 

The talented songwriter addressed this message to fans who were eagerly waiting for the RnB Versus battle between her and Keysha Cole. The event has been postponed to 9th January 2021 to give Ashanti time to recover.

She was in Kenya last week and visited the Giraffe Manor and Nairobi National park with a group of friends.

While in Kenya, she shared Insta stories of video clips and put the location pin of Nairobi and the caption;

 'Hey, I'm in Nairobi. Motherland love'.

She also shared photos of herself enjoying coconut curry snapper as well as the park.
