It was last year when actress Lupita Nyong'o made history by becoming the first Kenyan to ever win an Oscar award. One of the fundamental aspects of her growth is access to resources. She schooled at the prestigious Yale University and had access to the best theater studies one could ever have in the contemporary world.

The Kenya National Theater (KNT) has taken a major step by refurbishing the space. The space has been given a fresh look. Some of the major improvements include the 370-seater auditorium with the best integrated sound system and digitized lighting system in East and Central Africa.

The lovely, knitted dressing rooms are equipped with intercom systems.

All credit goes to CS Hassan Wario, who has been great at promoting the local art scene. Mpasho takes you behind the scenes of the new establishment, and from the pictorial, you'll notice that all the equipment hasn't been unparked yet. This makes it possible to hold concerts with minimal hitches. The workshop is equipped with a kitchenette. What a wonderful improvement!
