Celebrated Kenyan DJ Pierra Makena has been nominated for the Nollywood & African Film Critics' Awards (NAFCA) in the Best Actress category in a Supporting role for the part she played in the Nigerian film When Love Comes around.

Talking about her nomination, Pierra exclusively told Mpasho News that "I'm excited about it...there's no turning back! We're going higher.'

Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka is has also been nominated for the award. Other top nominees include actor Jamie Foxx and actress Raven Symone. Oprah Winfrey was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Foreign Film category.

When I asked the gorgeous entertainer if she would love to leave her DJ occupation to concentrate on film, she had this to say;

"I would never do that. If I can handle both and more why not. Let me do what I can now that I have the energy...I am DJ Pierra the actress.lol..even the nomination is written DJ Pierra."
