Exclusive: Jimmy Gait reveals why he is going for surgery in India

Gospel artiste Jimmy Gait is set to travel to India for treatment over a throat problem that has been affecting him for a year.

Jimmy, who is well known for hits such as 'Muhadhara', has in an interview with revealed that he will be in India for 15-20 days.

I went to hospital last year because I could not sing and even talk in a loud voice.

I am going for treatment, I will be leaving for India on Sunday.

I had been admitted to Aga Khan for days going through checkups and those are the photos doing rounds on social media.

According to the 'Lingala Ya Yesu' hit maker all he can do for now is rest and take enough water to allow his body to recover.

“I WENT TO SEE A DOCTOR AFTER I WAS UNABLE TO SING AND THEY SAID I AM NOT GOING TO SING FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS BECAUSE MY VOICE IS DAMAGED,” HE SAID. 

Doctors said he has been overworking his throat, which caused the damage.
