On Friday afternoon, I was at my desk about to have Pizza that my boss had ordered for our team. It was a chilled out afternoon; you know, how Fridays feel like? Then I got a call from reception telling me to go pick up a guest. It happened to be my brother from Nigeria, singer L.A.X who had arrived with his entourage for a series of interviews; print and TV.
Since I had interviewed him before – precisely last year – he said, “yooh, I remember you from last time man! How’s everything? How’s work?”
“It’s all been good bro. We just here grinding as usual,” I said. After he had a brief sit down with The Star Newspaper, it was my turn. L.A.X is not just your average musician. He has worked with top producers Legendary Beatz (known for Wizkid‘s “Ojuelegba”) and has collaborated on two hit songs with BET award winning singer Wizkid.
The two are like bros and are currently under Starboy Entertainment.
L.A.X told me that his latest jam, “Open And Close,” which was released back in December has gotten massive airplay in Nigeria. Everyone likes it – it is all over clubs.
“It’s going crazy, everybody is loving it. I brought CDs actually which I will be sharing tonight at my show in Kenya,” he said.
His good friend Davido was recently signed to Sony Music Global, as I reported and my interviewee has something cool to say about that.
