Popular Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee stopped by Mpasho TV last weekend to say hi to her amazing fans and update us on what she's been up to. She talked about her recent music video p Nobody But Me" which features South African Rapper K.O.

This is a big accomplishment for her given that the video has garnered positive reviews across Africa. She comes across as a bubbly girl, down-to-earth and truly visionary. This is despite the fact that she was the first ever MTV Video Jockey (VJ) from Tanzania. She's interviewed the likes of Trey Songz, Ludacris, French Montana, Mac Miller and Kelly Rowland.

Surprisingly, she speaks good English even though her music is primarily in Swahili. Mdee is a household name across East Africa and her participation in Season 2 of Coke Studio Africa made her even more popular amongst her fans.

Apart from music, Vanessa is a youth activist. Her current major project is with One Africa, in a campaign that seeks to empower women. She's teamed up with Victoria Kimani, Arielle T (Gabon), Gabriela (Mozambique), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Selmor Mtukudzi (Zimbabwe) among other top female African musicians to create "Strong Girl," an anthem for the campaign.

Here's her latest song:
