Last week was a pretty shocking time for Vanessa Mdee after she was arrested in regards to the ongoing drug trafficking investigations in Tanzania.

She had been summoned to the police station in Arusha to give a statement, but she was in South Africa at that time shooting season four of MTV's 'Shuga'.

Her house was searched as per the protocol while she was in jail where she spent a couple of nights eating beans and under-cooked ugali. Well, I'm assuming that's what people eat considering how jails are a hell hole.

She will no longer be experiencing cold nights in jail as she was finally released. A close source has revealed that she was released and is now back home.

"She was released on bail (dhamana) but the drug test results aren't out yet. Her family and friends and herself are mum about the whole issue," our source revealed.

Some celebrities like Lady Jaydee, Wema Sepetu, Barnaba among others have sent their love to her considering this is a really tough time for her. Her boyfriend Juma Jux has not said anything in regards to her case. But it is also reported that the two are no longer together. Well, that's a story for another day.
