The ex-girlfriend of Kenyatta University student who was strangled while at the Industrial area remand prison has penned a moving tribute.
John Kibowen was arrested for impersonating former DCI chief Ndegwa Muhoro and IG Joseph Boinnet was strangled to death, a postmortem report has revealed.
Kibowen’s mother, Jane Anyango said in an effort to solve the mystery surrounding her son’s death, she decided to have another autopsy conducted at Chiromo Mortuary.
“I have seen the report and according to pathologist Oduor, my son’s neck had injuries on the left side, part of his brain was swollen, and there were blood clots on the tips of his fingers,” Anyango said.
“It does not add up. A person who collapsed could not have signs of strangulation and such injuries.”
Anyango demanded justice for her son, saying Kibowen had been in remand for five weeks.
Kibowen’s pals paid tribute to him.
Phi’dell Blaiser wrote, “Some of you remember John Kibowen…his hilarious posts on the days Fb used to be facebook🔥. It’s a shocker he is No more😢😥 RIP Brother!”
Marylin Kanini wrote, “I’m saddened to hear, John Kibowen recently passed away. He was a friend. He was a blogger who made a lot of people laugh. Such a real soul. Happy and brought joy wherever he went. R.I.P.”
Ayub King added, “We had a rough path back in 2016. We dissed each other due to some ex of mine. Now am receiving news that you passed away😢😢😢. R.I.P Manze…atleast i got to apologize. Even if you didn’t accept my apology😢😢😢. Rest in Peace Kibweezy as i knew you😢😢.”
Marlone L C’las reminisced about Kibowen saying, “This guy was hilarious on his Facebook posts and was one sharp guy too. I worked with him during some online marketing stuff and he sure knew his thing. He delivered.”
Adding, “He had a huge following and was a hustler to it. If you remember pages like “Only in Kenya” “Vituko za KU” and others. He was behind this.
Over a year ago, he was arrested for impersonating IG Boinet and DCI Ndegwa Muhoro on facebook. Charges were piled on him which he denied and saw him taken to Remand awaiting investigations. On 18th June 2018 last week, He breathed his last in what prison warders say, he collapsed in the premises.
Other inmates say he was beaten up by warders after he failed to produce a phone he was spotted with. The star further says, there were marks on the neck which might indicate strangulation. Whichever the case, I hope justice will be served for this brilliant young soul. TILL WE MEET AGAIN. REST IN PEACE JOHN KIBOWEN.”
Pundits claims that Natasha Irene Nduta was close to him. She has penned a moving tribute to Kibowen titled ‘Tribute to a beautiful soul’
“Words can’t explain the gap you’ve left in my heart. Always believed in me. Despite all our shortcomings, you did me good.
Even after we were over, you became the friend that always had my back and I’ll forever be thankful.
I’m sorry Kibo for our unfulfilled wishlist. I’ll try to make them happen for you.
I’ll forever be indebted to you.
I’ll miss you so much, I hope you know wherever you are that I loved you when I did and that you were one of the best things that happened to me in my life.
Rest in peace honey, you were loved❤❤.”
