When New York Times first announced that the South African comedian was going to take over the Daily Show, many were happy but some were not as they claimed that Trevor was a racist. Being the first African ever to host the popular American satirical show, Kenyan celebrities  among them the funniest Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi so were overwhelmed

Earlier on, the self-proclaimed king of Kenyan comedy took it to social media to lash out at those people criticizing Trevor saying that people should support each other. He posted a photo of Trevor Noah accompanied by this long message:

“Every time Africa tries to rise, there is always a million reasons as to why She Cannot...Tonight "America" seems to be up in arms "against" Trevor. All over Sudden He is a "Racist" and a "Chauvinist" . Luther Died, Obama Won but this battle seems far from over... Trevor is a Big brother...I need him to go through the "Gates" so ill pray and hope for the best...But for Now ill post this."
