On September 25th, 2024, all roads led to Artcaffe at Britam Towers, for the official unveiling of Baileys' newest addition 'Strawberries & Cream'. 

The invite-only event was graced by different stakeholders who had been invited to be part of this groundbreaking moment.

At the Event, East African Breweries Limited (EABL) launched the new limited-edition flavor of Baileys – Strawberries & Cream – providing a decadent twist on the beloved Irish cream liqueur.

This delightful new flavor introduces a fruity element to the renowned Baileys line up and it’s available solely in Nairobi 

The Mpasho team was thrilled to participate in the 'Treat Yourself' event on September 26, 2024, celebrating the launch of the new Baileys flavor. The occasion featured a pink theme to complement the vibrant  Baileys Strawberries & Cream bottle. Attendees savored the delightful blend of creamy smoothness and fruity notes, along with a selection of desserts infused with Baileys that were simply irresistible.

Speaking at the launch, Wangeci Gakenia, Brand Manager for Baileys, said, “Baileys has always been about indulgence and delight, and with Strawberries & Cream, we are introducing a fresh and exciting twist to a classic favourite. This limited edition is perfect for those looking to treat themselves and add a little extra sweetness to their lives.”

During the launch, the Marketing Manager for Scotch & Reserve Portfolio, EABL Josephine Katambo,  announced that while Baileys is primarily recognized for its signature vanilla flavor, EABL will be partnering with local bakers and dessert shops. This collaboration aims to craft delectable treats featuring the new flavor, providing consumers with a variety of indulgent options to enjoy with Baileys.

In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, George Karume, the Spirits Manager at EABL, expressed his passion for his job, highlighting it has a positive impact on others.

He noted that whenever a liquor shop opens in a new location, it brings benefits to nearby vendors.

"Apart from offering and facilitating enjoyment part, we are impacting lives. We have so many bars that are employing people, the staff, and the owners of those outlets. Additionally, any place a bar opens leads to the opening of M-Pesa shops, smokie vendors get customers nearby and other local small businesses also stand to gain from the presence of the liquor shops. The fact that this celebration of life unlocks other opportunities for impacting other people's lives gives me a lot of joy," he shared.

This launch signals the start of an exciting new journey for the Baileys brand, with more innovative limited-edition releases on the horizon.
