Eight-time Grammy Award-winning music icon, Lauryn Hill, will headline this year’s Walker Town Day Two, taking place at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani, on September 28th and 29th.

Kenya’s very own hip-hop sensation, Nyashinski, will also share the stage with the American singer and rapper.

The event series integrates vibrant cultural elements, featuring live entertainment and collaborations that embody the brand’s progressive spirit. Now in its second year since launching in October 2022, Walker Town has evolved from a whisky-centric experience into a vibrant cultural event that incorporates music, lifestyle, and luxury. So far, we have hosted three events in Meru, Eldoret, and Nairobi. This year’s edition, taking place in Nairobi for the second time, marks the fourth Walker Town event. Walker Town embraces Kenya's dynamic entertainment scene, featuring live performances from top local and international artists.

The event has expanded in scale by moving to larger venues and integrating digital experiences to engage both in-person and online audiences. For the first time this year, the event will run for two consecutive days, further underscoring Walker Town’s evolution into a major fixture on Kenya’s social calendar.

The concept behind Walker Town in Kenya was inspired by Johnnie Walker’s global mission to bring the brand’s story to life through immersive experiences that showcase its legacy, craftsmanship, and vibrant culture. The event is designed to create a dynamic environment where fans and consumers can connect with the Johnnie Walker brand in an engaging and celebratory way. Walker Town enables Johnnie Walker to engage directly with consumers, while tapping into Kenya’s rich cultural landscape, particularly through music and entertainment. By aligning with influential local and international artists, the event resonates with a younger, urban audience that celebrates music, lifestyle, and luxury.

In the past two years, the event has cemented its position as a premier entertainment and brand engagement experience in Kenya. Walker Town consistently delivers immersive and memorable moments, forging a strong connection between the Johnnie Walker brand and Kenyan consumers. Revellers attending this year’s edition can expect nothing less.

This year, the bar has been raised even higher with a two-day event featuring a stellar lineup of artists, culminating in a performance by legendary music icon Ms. Lauryn Hill on the final day. The lineup caters to anyone looking to have the time of their life. Additionally, there will be a premium whisky-tasting experience.

Flavour Lounge Experience

The Flavour Lounge will offer an immersive, premium whisky-tasting experience, celebrating the artistry of liquid culture. Guests will savour a variety of Johnnie Walker blends and signature cocktails, expertly crafted by seasoned mixologists. The event promises an experience that transcends taste, blending music, tradition, and a rich celebration of culture in a vibrant atmosphere.

Entertainment

The event will kick off in the late afternoon and run through to the evening, with a line-up of DJs and artists delivering memorable performances throughout. Fun activities, including gaming, fashion showcases, and art exhibitions, will enrich the cultural experience.

Both music and whisky enthusiasts can immerse themselves in a dynamic blend of art, fashion, and culture, making for an exciting afternoon-to-evening affair.

  • Where will the upcoming Walker Town Nairobi edition take place?

The event will be hosted at the scenic Laureate Gardens within Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. This expansive venue provides the perfect backdrop for an elevated outdoor experience. For the first time, the event will run over two consecutive days, on September 28th and 29th, promising an unforgettable weekend filled with entertainment, culture, and premium whisky experiences.

  • What is the artists’ line-up?

Day one will be headlined by Nigerian Afrobeats star REMA, alongside our very own Kenyan artist Bien and the rising British rapper ArrDee. The day will also feature Buruklyn Boyz, Fathermoh, Tipsy Gee, Maandy Kabaya, Harry Craze, and Wadagliz.

The DJs include DJ Grauchi, DJ Pierra Makena, DJ Protégé, DJ Sirm, DJ Kaneda, DJ Mista C, and DJ PsKratch, with MCs Kwambox and Benvic.

Day Two

Day two will feature eight-time Grammy Award-winning music icon Ms. Lauryn Hill, celebrated for her pivotal role as a pioneering member of The Fugees and globally recognised for her trailblazing contributions to hip-hop, R&B, and soul.

The Fugees' groundbreaking 1996 album The Score redefined hip-hop, while Ms. Hill’s solo masterpiece The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill cemented her legacy as one of the most influential and enduring artists of her generation.

Also performing on day two is Kenya’s very own hip-hop sensation, Nyashinski, as well as Ndegz, a Kenyan Afro-pop singer-songwriter and producer, celebrated for singles like "Twende Nyumbani," "Kuruka," and "Balaa." The DJs for the day include CNG, Red Bone, Ite, Dream, and PsKratch. Lastly, Kwambox and Amina Rabar will be the MCs.

As demand for premium experiences continues to grow, future Walker Town Editions may focus on creating an even more luxurious and exclusive atmosphere. We also envision expanding the experience to other markets within the East African region.

  • How are you embracing sustainability?

As sustainability becomes a growing concern, Walker Town is keen on embracing eco-friendly practices, which includes hosting carbon-neutral events and using sustainable packaging for event merchandise. We are also looking to grow and expand the Johnnie Walker’s sustainability initiative, Project Rudisha, aimed at promoting environmental conservation by reducing brand’s carbon footprint and supporting local communities through restoration efforts.

The tickets are available in various packages to suit different preferences, including regular and VIP admissions for single days, as well as all-inclusive weekend packages (season tickets) for regular, VIP, and VVIP guests.
