American stand-up comedian Dave Chappelle visited Kenya in May this year, performing to a sold-out crowd at the Louis Leaky Auditorium.

However, Kenyan comedian, actor, scriptwriter, and businessman Eddie Butita recently revealed that he was banned from attending the show, despite having purchased a ticket.

"You know I was banned from getting into that show. I was banned," Butita shared in a video recorded by SPM Buzz.

He explained that he had just returned from a U.S. tour with President Ruto when he was contacted by the event organizers, who informed him he would not be allowed to attend.

"I bought my ticket. A day before the event, the organizers called me and said, 'We're sorry, you've been banned from attending.' They told me comedians and anyone associated with the media were not allowed at the show. Maybe they thought we might steal his jokes," Butita speculated.

Curious why he was singled out, Butita asked the organizers, who responded, "You’re so great that these guys know you. They had to go through the names one by one, and they flagged you."
