Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, has revealed the reasons behind his decision to remain unmarried.

Despite being one of the most eligible bachelors in the U.S. with wealth and charm, Jackson explained his perspective on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, September 4.

"Right now, I want someone I can love in my life, but not at the moment. I’m fine," said Jackson.

He added that "most men" are clouded by romantic desires and stressed his own clarity: "I’m safe. I’m not a happy hostage. I’m here. I’m free. I made some mistakes, just not that one."

When Colbert questioned why 50 Cent continues to accumulate wealth despite not having a partner to share it with, the rapper explained that staying away from relationships and practicing celibacy offers clarity.

"When you are celibate, you can focus. I’ve been good to me. [Money is] when things start getting complicated and confusing. People come in for different reasons. If you go on a date but have no interest, you can see through it. I said, 'God damn, girl, you fine, but you ain't got nothing going on.'"

Despite not being married, 50 Cent has two children. His first child, son Marquise Jackson, was born in 1996 with Shaniqua Tompkins. His second son, Sire Jackson, was born in 2012 with his then-partner Daphne Joy.
