Diaso's smooth dance style has inspired many Kenyans to emulate his signature moves from the hit song "Set It" by Dyana Cods and Ajay (Burukulyn Boys).

Diaso, whose real name is Dennis Diaso, grew up in Mathare North, where he associated with a tough crowd.

The song "Set It" has become a sensation on TikTok, and Diaso has played a significant role in popularizing the dance moves. His signature look includes wearing a hat that shields his face with his head bowed down.

Diaso has shared his inspiring journey from being a garbage collector to gaining newfound fame. He recently posted a video reflecting on his old job, which resonates with many Kenyans.

Speaking with YouTuber Prince Newton, Diaso mentioned, "If it wasn't for content creation, I’m sure I would be involved in a life of crime."

He started his TikTok account in 2020, balancing daytime jobs with creating content at night. "I used to work in jua kali jobs during the day and then make two videos at night," he explained.

Diaso finds content creation more fulfilling compared to the hardships he faced in the past.

He recounted, "I used to do garbage collection from 2019 until 2023. Many people don't know that I was still collecting garbage last year."

Frustrated by the meager earnings, he decided to quit. "Sometimes, we were a group and would earn KSh 800, which we had to divide. That’s not much, and it was what I expected to earn by the end of the month."

Before his dancing career took off, Diaso was also a comedian. "I started dancing this year. I tried my first video for Ali Kiba's song 'Pokea Salama,' and when it went viral, it motivated me to continue," he said.
