Winnie Bwire famously known as Dida from the popular Kenyan TV show Sultana has been facing a challenging battle with Ductal carcinoma, a rare type of breast cancer involving abnormal cells in the milk duct.
On September 5, 2024, Lulu Hassan posted on her Instagram page a statement issued by Winnie's family announcing that the famous actress had passed on while undergoing treatment in Turkey.
"It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God's will that we announce Winfred Bwire Ndubi lost her battle with cancer on September 5, 2024, while undergoing treatment in Turkey.
"We thank you all for your overwhelming support, prayers, and generous giving during her treatment. God bless you all," the family wrote.
This statement has left many Kenyans in shock knowing that they have not only lost her but the world has lost a legend.
Friends, colleagues, and fans have sympathized with the family.
