Musician Lil Maina has narrated how his grandfather's death caught him unaware and even he smiled at it since he could not believe it.

This happened after he had planned on visiting his grandpa but he overslept the D-day.

On his YouTube channel, Maina felt like it was unreal and the only thing he remembers is his grandfather allowing him to use his car. The message came from his cousin.

"It was 4 pm on Sunday my cousin came and told me Babu had gone, I didn't cry I was just chilled...  Iyo process like me processing that, I was like okay, I didn't cry it was very unreal," Maina said.

Lil Maina felt lost after his grandfather's burial. He didn't give himself time to heal and even went on to perform in the shoke shoke event when Ayra Star showed up in the country.

It was such a hard time for him.

"I was very lost and people couldn't inform  me that I was lost except my mom, I was giving myself time to heal, I was going to the studio, I wanted to keep things going  and I even performed at shoke shoke, a week after tumezika Babu in a real sense I was hurting myself and it was very weird that was such a tough time for me."

He later realized that his granddad was gone and never coming back later on in April.

Lil Maina would have flashbacks about his late grandpa that made him cry like a baby and every 20th of every month was his worst, until even he could dream about his granddad.

"Kila 20th nilikuwa nalia and apart from crying babu would appear kwa dreams zangu,  but shosho told me that was not a good thing and I was ignorant but it turns out it's not a good thing"
