The Kenyan Ruger has opened up about experiencing sight problems with his left eye for wearing the patch.
Mark Paul, his real name told Mungai Eve Aug 29 that he has noticed his eyesight is failing, since he began wearing the black eye patch to imitate his Nigerian idol.
He is at times forced to wear sunglasses to block the sun glare.
"It hasn't affected me that much, but kuna vile siezi ona poa. (left side of eye). So I am forced to wear shades when walking. This helps me alot. Or other times nikiwa mtaani, navaa kofia, najaribu kubalance balance, nione kama macho itarudi poa." he shared.
Adding
"Macho haifunguki vizuri. Alafu inaogopa light, juu ikifika kukiwa na light inabidi pia nifanye hivi, ndio hii ipate nguvu" gesturing at right eye.
He has no regrets however for this
"mi naona tu iko poa. It's not such a big deal. Niko tu sawa. As long as I am making money, I'm just happy."
He also confessed that he is losing his own identity because he has to adopt another persona.
"I do this character because of money. Kama mbaya mbaya. situation yenye tukona familia yetu ilibdi tu niende tu nayo. kama mbaya mbaya. I do it for money, sitaki umaskini, shindwe! "
Ruger has performed five shows so far as the fake Ruger.
"Bado napambana, juu safari bado but it has changed my life, pole pole"
