Bidii yangu hitmaker Jua Cali credits his longevity in music to never giving up "I treat my music like my life"

He says this is why he has lasted over 20 years.

"So, I treat my music like life. I  also confront my setbacks head on. Yani tuna move tu nayo. That is what has sustained me to this day, coz the moment you take things personal you will be stressed. Your energy will go into the wrong place. But for me yani music is life, as long as niko tu hapa, I will keep on doing music."

The Calif born resident told TV47 Morning Cafe that he is happy the gengetone era inspired arbantone.

This is among reasons he allows arbantone artistes to use his beat for free.

"You know when I tell people that Clemmo and I decided not to take any money from them for using our beat, people wonder.  Aje? How can you just let it go for free? "

He explained further why they gave arbantone their blessings

"When we started Calif Records, our parents gave us their sitting room to use, so we decided to also help those who will come after us. Thats even why we gave Jimwat, Mejja, Rattata, kina Size 8, wote walipita kwa mkono zetu. We said God has blessed us with these machines let's not deny upcoming musicians' access. "

The Veteran singer felt it important to extend that same gesture

"We are youtube partners, if we were...we would have decided to take royalties, or we would have warned them, that they didn't ask for permission so we will demand royalties. But now we felt, these are young men they are upcoming, they have a really good song, besides using my song Bidii yangi, it's also a really good song itself. Clemmo and I sat down and gave them our blessings. Acha vijana wajisaidie. We met afterwards"

Jua Cali is working on his sixth album, with a collabo with arbantone artistes.
