Presenter Willis Raburu has opened up about the most challenging period of his life. Speaking on the podcast Lessons @30 with Dr. Ofweneke, Raburu revealed that when he discovered his daughter would not survive immediately after birth, he felt utterly powerless, marking the most difficult time of his life.

“The hardest moment for me was when I realized that my daughter would not survive. When my daughter died, that was the most painful period of my life. I don’t think there is any other pain that can compare to that,” Raburu said, amid deep emotional sighs.

He explained that he was informed of his daughter’s death while still in the hospital, and it was the end of the year when others were celebrating the arrival of a new year.

“It was a very dark time for me. I was still there in the hospital. I even have a tattoo here on my arm. It was December 31, when people were waiting for the new year.

“Everything was fine; we had gone to the doctor, and everything was okay. Then suddenly, we were told that the baby’s heartbeat had stopped. I don't think I have ever felt as lonely, dark, and in pain as I did at that moment,” he added.

Raburu revealed that during this time, he had to reevaluate his relationship with God, and for a long time, he took a break from his faith.

However, he disclosed that his relationship with God has now been restored to what it was before. During this period, many issues arose in his marriage, leading to its eventual breakdown.

Raburu and his former partner, Marya Prude, lost their child at the end of 2019. At one point, Marya admitted that she no longer believed in the existence of God.
