Tanzanian artist Haromize has expressed frustration over his songs being removed from YouTube.
In a recent statement aimed at promoting his new track, Harmonize said, “My YouTube channel is acting up. I’m not sure if someone is messing with it; songs are being taken down unusually, but it’s all good! Enjoy the music—there's another music video coming out today. Dem been playing very funny games.”
A few weeks ago, Harmonize raised concerns after his new song ‘Sherehe’ was taken down from YouTube. In an Instagram post, the Konde Music Worldwide boss alleged that a Kenyan artist was behind the removal.
He noted that this wasn’t the first time his music faced such issues, often following complaints from a Kenyan artist on the platform.
“This is not the first time! Whenever a song starts gaining traction, it gets taken down on YouTube. Several times, our investigations reveal that someone claiming to be from Kenya is behind it,” the father of one complained.
He added, “What I know is that Kenyans love and support Konde Boy a lot! From Day 1, we’ve always been together. Pray for Kenya. If you remember, when I released #UNO in 2020, it was taken down by a producer who claimed to be Kenyan. He convinced YouTube that the song was his, but later realized it wasn’t right and apologized publicly!”
He went on to explain that the song was removed while he and his team were working on its video. “Sorry to all Kondegang members, the team is working hard to address this issue before the video is released! There’s nothing we can do; I’m sure he is still a big fan, and I interpret this as another form of love,” he said.
