Eddy Kenzo's fiancé considered his proposal 'offensive'

• Their first meeting was strictly business, but Nyamutoro was impressed by Kenzo's outlook on life. "I was intrigued by how someone with his background could have such a positive perspective on life. It didn’t make sense to me," she said.

Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo proposed to his partner Phiona Nyamutoro during their second business meeting.

Nyamutoro, who serves as the Ugandan Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, revealed this during a party celebrating Kenzo's appointment as the new senior presidential advisor on creatives and the creative industry in Uganda.

Nyamutoro shared that Kenzo had been requesting a meeting with her for some time, but she had been too busy to accommodate him.

"When I finally met him, I was expecting someone much shorter—I don't know why. So, I was surprised when he walked into the room, and he was actually tall. He introduced himself, and I couldn’t stop noticing his height," she recalled.

Their first meeting was strictly business, but Nyamutoro was impressed by Kenzo's outlook on life. "I was intrigued by how someone with his background could have such a positive perspective on life. It didn’t make sense to me," she said.

During their second meeting, Kenzo unexpectedly proposed marriage, which Nyamutoro initially found puzzling.

"He said, 'I want to marry you.' I looked around to see if he was talking to someone else and even asked if he was practicing for another proposal. In my mind, the idea of me marrying a musician seemed impossible," she explained.

Over time, Nyamutoro got to know Kenzo on a personal level and described him as a man with a big heart.

The couple has already introduced each other to their families, solidifying their commitment to one another.
