A wax figure of rapper Nipsey Hussle was unveiled in Atlanta during the “Invest Fest.” The festival, sponsored by Earn Your Leisure, Microsoft, and The Marathon (the rapper’s clothing line), also introduced a business grant in Nipsey's honor, valued at nearly $100,000.

The funds will be awarded to one lucky entrepreneur to help grow their business.

Who Was Nipsey Hussle?

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Davidson Asghedom in 1985, was an Eritrean American rapper raised in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

He was a prominent figure in the West Coast hip hop scene, emerging in the mid-2000s. Nipsey was also a member of the local Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips gang.

Tragically, Nipsey was shot along with two others outside his South Los Angeles clothing store in 2019. All three victims were transported to a hospital, where Nipsey was pronounced dead.

Eric R. Holder, Jr., the man convicted of killing Nipsey Hussle, was sentenced to at least 60 years in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder last July.
