Mugithi singer Samidoh became emotional on Sunday, August 25, during a church service at JCM along Thika Road.
He attended the service for the launch of the Chapati and Mandazi Mashinani forum, a campaign for the flour brand he represents as an ambassador.
JCM's Bishop Ben Kiengei praised Samidoh for his efforts to become a transformed man, stating, "I'm so happy to see you have become levelheaded now." The Bishop encouraged the Kikuyu singer, who was on stage at the time.
Samidoh later shared photos of the moment, expressing his gratitude to the Bishop. He wrote, "Today, I was privileged to fellowship at JCM HQ together with the @raha_premium team.
It was an honour to be part of the launch and kickoff of the Chapati and Mandazi Mashinani forum. I am super excited to see a Gospel that is changing people’s lives."
Bishop Kiengei further remarked, "If you see Samidoh coming to worship at JCM, he now has a good head on his shoulders!"
His comment elicited laughter from the audience. Samidoh also sang several gospel songs during the service, which seemed to be a form of prayer.
The Bishop asked him why he was in church, to which Samidoh responded that he intended to be more religious and attend church regularly.
The Bishop encouraged him by saying, "Come to church and see how good things can be—how well it can work out," and Samidoh fully agreed.
Samidoh humorously added, "God's timing is best, and it has reached. I will be coming. And please don't leave me behind; in one or two months, give me a branch, maybe one in Boston," which drew more laughter from the Bishop.
This sentiment was echoed by Bernice Saroni, who commented on Samidoh's Instagram page, saying, "Branch ya Boston ifunguliwe sasa."
