President William Ruto has appointed Digital Strategist Denis Itumbi as Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.
Ruto appointed Itumbi after the approval of the Public Service Commission.
"This appointment will go into fostering this administration's zeal for innovation and growth towards a robust yet novel sector in the economic sphere," a statement read in part.
At the same time, Ruto has appointed former ICT CS Eliud Owalo as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Performance and Delivery Management.
Owalo will be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation, monitoring and evaluation of priority projects and initiatives of the 5th administration in line with the BETA Plan.
He will also be charged with overseeing the performance of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies in service delivery.
The Head of State has also appointed former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria as a senior adviser in the Council of Economic Advisors.
Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, said the appointment seeks to bolster the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda plan by the broad-based government.
News of the appointment came hours after Kuria thanked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for wishing him well, even as he moves on to other things.
“To my brother DP Rigathi Gachagua. Thank you for your kind words. Indeed God has His own designs. I am a believer. I strongly trust that He will make me the current Mt Kenya kingpin and the 6th President of the Republic of Kenya. Asante Ndugu,” he said on X.
