The recognition that the viral song Set It is getting has Kenyans perfectly choreographing the dance moves.

Set It featuring Dyana Cods, Ajay (Burukulyn Boyz)  is topping all music charts, thanks to Gen Z.

The artiste spoke to Citizen TV where Dyana revealed the origin of the song and how she landed on that genre of music.

She has been in the music scene, with several projects with more than 100 songs.

The song has gained over one million views barely a month after its release. Catch it on all streaming apps.

The 25-year-old rapper remains grateful to her music fans for making the song go viral and also appreciates the effort put into creating such a sound.

Many believe Dyana Cods is not her real name, but she insists it is "It's Diana Cods. Cods is my surname, it's from my parents"

Explaining her Dancehall look and lyrics, Dyana explained that's what confuses people about her nationality.

"I'm Kenyans. I'm from Nyanza, Kisumu as I started doing music I liked the Caribbean vibe. I listened to so many genres so that also made me try that more. I felt comfortable with the dancehall, so that's why I decided to make that sound."

Her musical journey began after High School. She has 4 albums, "I have so many catalogs going on. When I got signed by Zozo Natyion, they heard my vibe but told me you are not marketable. So, I had to Kenyanize myself"

She found Kenyans artists who inspired her.

The song Set It First "I usually record at Big Beatz studio, and I was at the studio, and I played a beat and I heard it, and you I couldn't sit for that. I said this is the one. I stayed with it for like two months"

She posted it online as a teaser and the rest was history.

The song premiered in July but didn't capture the attention.

"It stayed there for like nine days on streams. It was just there and nobody ..it wasn't doing much; it wasn't gathering any traction."

It was picked by Tiktokers who started the dance challenge. Dyana credits three of them for popularizing the song.

"They used the track and it just went viral. And I wish we could do so much more for them. It's all of them, I really appreciate. I give a big shout-out to all of them"

Dyana also described the fame of the song "It's unbelievable. I'm still in the process of ..is it a joke..is it .."
