She has been named among the top 50 influential African women by Leading Ladies Africa.

Leading Women is a women-focused non-profit launched with the key aim of driving leadership for African women, promoting womenās rights in Africa, and developing, and equipping African women with the skills required to take on leadership roles across Business, Governance, and Corporate sectors.
Murugi was congratulated by Lydia K her co-host on their podcast TMI.

This comes 3 days after she announced her business Wild By Murugi was shutting down.
Wild By Murugi was a brand promoting plus-size outfits and accessories. She talked about the boutique in an Instagram live session with fans.
