Multi-award winning, recording and performing artist, humanitarian, and budding entrepreneur Henry Ohanga popularly known as Octopizzo has announced he will no longer be releasing his album today as earlier planned in solidarity with the Nane Nane protesters.

Taking to his X account the father of two shared the news while taking jabs at the government over how they handled the recent Toi Market fire that affected at least 2000 traders.

However, he did not immediately set a new date for the album release, maintaining things would be communicated once the dust settled.

“Maji ya Kuzima Toi Market ilikosa for hours! Acha tuone kesho kama maji itakosa kwa ile gender reveal truck hao utuchapa Nayo #Nane Nane. (There were no fire trucks sent to Toi Market for hours! Let's wait and see if tomorrow the water canon trucks that they use to disperse us will be available)

Album release on hold till further notice," Octopizzo penned.

Octo was scheduled to release his 8th studio album on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

Besides Namba Nane's finest, singer Karun has also notified her fans that she'll be cancelling her AnuEp live listening party that was set for Friday August 9.

On her X.com account, she wrote; "I’m so excited to perform this set for you, we’ve worked the new songs into a beautiful full band set and added vocal layers 💅✨ for the first time.

In light of tomorrow’s peaceful protest and with concern for the safety and security of everyone involved, I regret to inform you that we must postpone the À nu EP launch event.

This decision, though difficult, was made with the well-being of our community as the top priority.🌟The new date for the event is Sunday, the 18th of August. 🌟"
