This week, Difella Music and Remcy Don, the two men who claim to resemble US singer Jason Derulo and Diamond Platnumz, joined Dr. Ofweneke on his TV47 show, where they revealed details about themselves.
Difella and Remcy have been going viral, tagging their respective artists in a bid to be acknowledged. Remcy revealed he is from Laikipia, while Difella is from Homa Bay.
The comedian-cum-media personality jumped out of his seat, running towards the audience. "What's your real name?" he asked the fake Diamond Platnumz.
"Jina yangu ni Alphonse Meschak," he replied. Ofweneke enquired if he had another name. "Hamna," answered the fake Diamond, adding that he is a Kenyan national. "From Nairobi, sa nimejipata huku nimezaliwa hapa."
Turning to the other impersonator, Ofweneke shot the same question to the fake Jason Derulo. "Jason Derulo!! Majina kamili baba!!"
He complied, sharing, "Majina kamili ni Simon." Ofweneke insisted on another name. "Simon nani?" "Simon Muturi," he answered.
This was all that was needed to get Ofweneke to react and jump up. "Nilijua!! Nilijua, nilijua!!" he repeatedly exclaimed.
The audience was also tickled and laughed loudly, prompting Ofweneke to chant, "Aki ma ngai nie ma ngai ma ngai," a Kikuyu phrase expressing shock and amusement.
"Haki lakini wakikuyu! Wakikuyu! Mungu anawaona. Ni kutafuta pesa. Jason wa Derulo!!" said the MC as he launched into some Kikuyu sentences to interact with the Derulo lookalike.
"Yani all this time, all this time Diamond Platnumz ni wa Homa Bay. Jason Derulo ni wa Laikipia. I think my bosses need to give me a serious show, aki I would never have believed it," he exclaimed.
The two impersonators are also musicians.
