Faith Kipyegon's silver medal was reinstated hours later after being disqualified from the women's 5000m.

The news brought joy to Kenyans who were disappointed by the World Athletics decision.

Earlier on Kipyegon had been disqualified for allegedly shoving Ethiopia's Gudaf Tsegay but Kenya's team officials appealed since they were not in line with the results.

Kenyans came out in large numbers to congratulate and show how happy they are for Kipyegon taking back the silver medal she deserves.

The Genz has been making humorous posts of "Occupy Paris " since it is their slogan once they see any injustice act on Kenyans.

First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto sent a heartful message to Faith Kipyegon for her excellent performance in the Paris Olympic Games.

"Congratulations to Faith Kipyegon for winning silver in the women's 5000m." she stated on Instagram.

How Kenyans have reacted to Kipyegon's silver medal being reinstated. Read the comments below:

"After Wameskia we were to occuppy paris 😅"

"..after Kenyans threatened to #occupyparis. 😂"

"Congratulations @faithkipyegon ! Always making us proud! We love you!"

Some comments suggested the World Olympics should apologize for causing Kipyegon and other Kenyans distress.

"They should apologise to her for causing distress"

The videos online clearly showed Kipyegon deserved to win thus Milka Chemos, Benard Ouma and team manager Peter Angwenyi appealed and won the case. Here are speculations on why the court had to reverse Kipyegon's disqualification and reinstate the silver medal back to her:

  1. Disqualification of the original winner: If an athlete is disqualified for misconduct their medals may be stripped and relocated to the next eligible competitor. If the reinstated athlete clears any legal procedural issue, they may receive their medal back.
  2. Appeal and reversals: If an athlete's disqualification is overturned upon appeal or legal view, they might be reinstated and awarded the medal back.
  3. Errors in results: If errors in the original results are discovered medals can be reassigned

The whole process involves a thorough review process by the World Olympic Committee.
