The renowned dancehall artist from Jamaica, Adidja Palmer, also known as Vybz Kartel, has finally become a free man.

The singer was released following a court decision on Wednesday afternoon, which ruled that he and his associates should no longer be prosecuted.

On his social media pages, the 48-year-old musician has continued to share updates with his fans about his release.

He has posted several photos and videos of himself outside the prison, enjoying good times with friends and family members.

In one of the videos he posted, which has sparked a significant debate online, he is seen in a car with his girlfriend, Sidem Ozturk. He is also seen holding an alcohol bottle, recording himself with his girlfriend, and praising her.

"I'm out! Me and my wife," Vybz Kartel said in the video.

In the video, the dancehall star had his head covered. However, one could see that his face was swollen on the cheeks, clearly indicating that his health is not very good.

Netizens have continued to express mixed feelings following the video, with some talking about his health, others discussing his relationship, while some are celebrating his release.

Here are some comments from netizens:

Dr. Jay: World Boss! Please quit alcohol and take NAD+ supplements, coconut water, and all soil-based medications to build your health! 💪 The world is already yours! Welcome back! Health is Wealth.

Decapro: What illness do you have, quick healing from nature, and rejuvenation. Kenya is waiting for your tour.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Jamaican Court of Appeal made a decision against retrying the case, citing various reasons including jury misconduct and the deterioration of the artist's health.

The Court of Appeal, led by Judge Marva McDonald-Bishop, unanimously decided to release Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants, Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones.

"Considering all the issues the court has reviewed, we conclude that the interests of justice do not require a new trial for the appellants," said Judge Marva McDonald-Bishop.

"Therefore, we issue the following order: the conviction and sentence are hereby quashed in relation to the appellants," she added.
