Tanzanian singer Rayvanny has been featured on the cover of Deeds Magazine. In the upcoming issue, he expresses his excitement about this achievement, calling himself East Africa's superstar. Rayvanny discusses his journey and his mission to make music for the world.
"I don't want to tell you now, but it's next level. Next-level sh*t like it's global—shows, performances, numbers, everything—next level. Just wait and see," he says.
The "Tetema" hitmaker elaborates on his global music vision, the importance of nurturing new talent, and his journey from local competitions to launching his own label, Next Level Music.
He has progressed from being a BET winner to performing at the MTV EMAs and collaborating with major artists worldwide.
In the magazine, Rayvanny recounts his musical journey, starting in 2011 with a freestyle competition, and his signing to WCB in 2016.
He hints at his future music direction, emphasizing his ambition to create music for a global audience.
"My mind is about more than just making music for East Africa or my country. I must do music for the world so that the world can understand what we have back home.
I'm not doing it for myself because when our music industry is recognized worldwide, it’s good business for the generation of my country.
And that's what I'm fighting for every day: I have to do it and represent the culture. So, representing my country worldwide is a good feeling."
As the CEO of a record label, Rayvanny is committed to growing talent. "We need to have new blood and fresh minds because if we want to move forward and our industry to be big and grow, we have to look for this new talent.
"It's not only us that can take it to the next level; we need these new kids. There is so much talent out there, and it's untapped."
