A verbal feud has erupted between artist Otile Brown and Bien on social media. Bien accused Otile Brown of criticising his new song featuring Prince Indah and Adenkule.

“Otile, you don’t have any money… who do you think you are talking like? You released an album and it didn’t go far…” Bien said.

However, Otile Brown did not hesitate to respond. Through his Instagram page, he claimed he couldn’t argue with people who think any popular song is a good song (referring to Bien’s track).

“I can’t argue with people who think any popular song is a good song, and that’s how you’ve ruined the game. Now you expect to shake your booty on social media to push a product that will only last for a week or two…” the text read on Otile’s Instagram Story.

Otile claimed he sings authentic music while criticising Bien for losing his authenticity and thus singing music that people want.

“…you’re making music for a small group of city people who think they know life a lot.”

He added that Bien should focus on his last hit song, and Otile claimed he is at the top and doesn’t need to boast or engage in social media antics.

“Look at your last hit song and compare it to mine; mine is still a bigger hit in terms of views. It remains the best music video in the country for nearly a year, and I didn’t need to shake my waist on social media. These hits you’re talking about, which ones are those with 3 million, 5 million views? When I make a hit, it’s genuine and not forced as you’re trying to do on social media…”

This latest exchange comes a few weeks after Bien disagreed with Otile's statement that there were no international artists in Kenya.

“I find it a bit frustrating when Otile says that because there are many artists here making waves. Perhaps Otile has never ventured beyond Kenya to see this for himself,” Bien told Obinna during an interview with the YouTuber.

He cited artists like Sofia Nzau and Mwaki, the latter of whom has accumulated 100 million views on Spotify and performed in South Africa.

“Is Sofia Nzau not an international artist? We’ve also had internationally recognized artists in the past, like those behind the classic Swahili song 'Jambo Bwana,’” Bien added.

Bien stressed that his achievements, including extensive international tours and multiple sold-out shows across Europe and Australia, demonstrate the presence of global success in Kenyan music.

“I’ve been on tour all year, performing only once in Kenya and over 20 shows abroad. I’m not sure what Otile means by an international artist,” he concluded.
