Tanzanian gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege has appeared in public for the first time since fake reports that he was dead.

The 'Mke Mwema' hitmaker was saddened by the news spreaders confirming he is alive and well. Speaking to the public in a social media video, the singer said;

"I wanted to come into the public and speak about the fake news. I had been 'killed' on social media a couple of time, but this time round it was very shocking. Normally, I usually ignore but for this one, I wanted to come and clear the air."

Mwaitege went on say that he was concerned as his fans were left wondering if he is really alive or not.

"As you can see me, I am alive and healthy. I am not sick, I did not get an accident, its just fake news,"

He went on to ask people to share the real news to others to reduce tension "I have not known who started these fake news."

 He said he had reported the news to the local authorities to know who and how the news started.
