James Mbugua, a man living with disability in Nakuru County has explained why he participated in the July 1 anti-government protests.
James in multiple photos was captured in a confrontational moment with anti riot police daring them to deal with him.
Speaking to Citizen TV, the 32-year-old narrated how his disability made him believe he was disadvantaged compared to his peers.
"Mimi I'm just harmless. But mtu surely anachukua tear gas ka tano anani rushia surely just becaus eI want to raise my voice" he questioned.
Mbugua spoke in an interview, saying he is a family man driven by his daily struggles to raise Sh500 a day, compared to politicians who show off their wealthy acquisitions.
"Nikikymbuka mtoto angu aki walai analala njaa. "
He is struggling to survive to make only Sh500 a day "Sometimes hata zinaweza kukosa kufika, Unapata ni ile tu ya kwa mdomo," he added.
Mbugua is a father r of two and is perplexed
"I feel very insecure," he stated.
James was among young protestors attacked for holding a whistle and a flag during anti-government protests over the last month.
The flag he was holding was grabbed by anti-riot police, a move he protested, "Nikamuuliza nimefanya nini?".
His wife has been praying for his safety as he exercises his democratic right to protest.
