Why Amber Ray's bae Kennedy Rapudo gave up his dream to be a radio presenter

• The death of his mother affected his education.

• Rapudo was brought up by a step-dad who has since passed away.

Amber Ray's partner Kennedy Rapudo has revealed why he did not pursue being a radio presenter.

According to him radio did not pay as well as he thought.

In an interview with Parents Magazine' he shared

"The villagers wanted me to be a teacher.

My neighbour back at home always insisted I must be a teacher and I hated it. After form 4 he found me a teaching job but after I joined campus I did something else.

I hate writing. "

What was his passion?

"I wanted to be a radio presenter but now am old. I used to listen to BBC until I figured it does not pay well and I wanted financial freedom.

I also wanted to become a doctor but after my mum died I lost focus. I decided to do what the world wanted me to be now I run my own business."

He says he supports his kids in whatever they want to pursue

"My son once told me he wants to be a chef, he later changed and said he wanted to be a bus conductor.

My daughter wants to own a salon. Even f she told me she wants to be a hair stylist I would support her. My job is not to tell her she is wrong, I am there to support them."

After getting a Master's degree at the University of NairobiKennedy  started work with various oil companies like TULO and Africa Oil.

"Tulikuwa tunafanyia different oil companies in Kenya. One of them was TULO. There was also Africa oil. We were doing research for them. After that I went back to USIU to do my second Masters because I loved their programs," he said.

8 years ago, Rapudo's entrepreneurial journey started to take flight as he started operating multiple cars under Uber.

And that was just the beginning for him as he would then get his biggest break with a Dutch travel company, for whom he organized tours for clients from the Netherlands.

"After that I left the job in 2015 and got into doing some business. Nilikuwa na magari. After that I started working for a Dutch company, we were doing tours and travels. Mostly we were dealing with inbounds. clients were coming form mostly Netherlands."

After the Covid pandemic ravaged the company that he worked for, Rapudo decided to start his own tour company
