Dubai princess divorces her husband on Instagram

Shaikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum, a Dubai princess, announced to her husband via Instagram that she has allegedly divorced him.

The Dubai princess married Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Radhis bin Mana Al Maktoum last year.

Their wedding day was dubbed the most extravagant wedding ceremony of 2023, with the honeymoon celebrated in Mykonos, Greece.

"Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce you, and I divorce you," she wrote, ending with, "Take care, Your Ex-wife."

Announcing the divorce thrice is part of the Islamic practice known as triple talaq.

Mahra is one of the 26 children of the Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE.

The princess has over 513k followers on social media. Mahra gained recognition for supporting local designers and being a consistent voice for women’s empowerment.
