Pastor James Ng’ang’a has explained why he dislikes people who identify themselves as being overly religious.

According to the pastor of Neno Evangelism Church, many people who claim to be born again are lazy, and he does not like to associate with laziness because he is a successful entrepreneur.

While preaching at a major gospel meeting organized by his church in Kitengela last weekend, Ng’ang’a listed some of the many businesses he owns, stating that he does not rely on the offerings and contributions of the congregation.

“I don’t like the born again because they are lazy. Born again people just want to be prophesied to. What are you being prophesied about? I started with a cart selling fruits, then I got a bicycle and climbed those ranks. Now the born again just want to beg,” Ng’ang’a said.

“Don’t look at me like this. Have you ever seen me telling you to give offerings to God? Don’t give if you don’t want to. I have a hotel, I have nearly 60 acres of maize, I own a petrol station, I have a salon, and I also want to open a car wash. Don’t think I’m just a pastor, dear brothers and sisters... I have my own matatus and rental houses where people pay me. Don’t think I’m here just to preach to you, mind your own business,” the pastor added.

Ng’ang’a also broke down some of the significant amounts he has spent on advertising his gospel meeting on various media platforms.

“If you look at this banner, it’s worth Ksh 168k. I placed an ad on Citizen TV for Ksh 250k and also on Inooro TV for Ksh 116k. I advertised on NTV for Ksh 200k. How much is that? Do you think I can recover that money? Even if you give offerings, it won’t reach even 20k. I’m not here for money, when you leave, my God will come,” he said.

“I’m here to bring you the gospel because the person who prayed for me, I didn’t give him anything. I’m not a pastor telling you to bring 2k so I can prophesy to you, or to come see me face to face to tell me your problems. If you don’t want to give, don’t. If you feel like giving, give. If you don’t, keep your money and buy Panadol,” he added, saying he was unnecessarily angered.
