Activist Eric Omondi has initiated a fundraiser through his SISI KWA SISI foundation to reward a man who helped in recovering bodies from the Kware dump site in the Embakasi neighborhood.

Omondi posted a video of himself meeting the man, identified as Kyalo Wambua, and asked SISI KWA SISI fans to do their usual part and send their contributions as a way to show Kyalo that the community appreciates his selfless act.

Kyalo stated that he has been doing this work voluntarily to help people whose loved ones are found fallen into the dump site.

The man revealed that since last weekend, he has recovered 13 bodies from the dump site.

“A hero is not someone in an office... These are the heroes. This guy Kyalo Wambua volunteered and recovered 13 bodies from the Kware dump site in Mukuru Kwa Njenga. TEAM SISI KWA SISI, let's completely change this man's life,” Omondi wrote in the video.

As Eric urged people with generous hearts to send their contributions via M-Pesa to this man, he referred to him as a hero, saying that the things seen at the dump site could cause trauma, and thus he needs a good vacation to relax his mind.

Kyalo has been the talk of the town since Friday when the recovery operation began, as he was the only one brave enough to enter the trash-filled dump site and open bag after bag, trying to solve the mystery of the bodies dumped in bags.
