Lawyer Cliff Ombeta's attention drawn by young man accused of breaking into Parliament

Kelvin Mangare is a young man accused of breaking into Parliament and disabling surveillance cameras the day before the Occupy Parliament protests.

He was charged with the offense at Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, July 10.

 Mangare was arrested with electrical switches stolen from Parliament buildings worth Sh2.6 million.

He is said to have gained access to Parliament four times between April 23rd and July 2024.

Top criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta appears to have been following the case, as he took to his social media to proclaim his interest.

On his X.com (formerly Twitter) he reacted "My type of client.  Ehhhhh!"

The lawyer made fans exclaim happily that they were well aware of what he was talking about.

The young man appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe, where he was alleged to have broken into the basement No. 2 areas of the main Parliament building on April 23,  supposedly stealing two CISCO CCTV switches belonging to Maga security Solutions company at around 6:30 PM along Parliament Road.

The suspect was also charged with breaking into Parliament on May 20 at around 6 pm and stealing more CCTV switches from Maga security solution company.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of half a million shillings.
