• Most of the big Twitter bigwigs are asking people to stand down and refrain from marching to the State House.

Netizens this morning have woken up to shocking posts from a few X bigwigs and activists who've been at the forefront of leading the Reject Finance Bill protests.

The posts have left many confused with a sense of being "sold out".

Before the change of tune, most influencers had called on their followers and fans to show up in numbers as they marched to the State House.

This was part of the 7 Days of Rage calendar that had been released last week as well as an honour to the citizens who lost their lives during Tuesday protests.

On X a space had been held where close to 130k users had joined in expressing what they thought about the President and the Deputy President's speeches as well as the Githurai massacre that still has people reeling.

However, tales have changed with said activists claiming the demos have been infiltrated and would no longer serve their intended purpose. Below is a list of activists who've called for citizens to stand down and what they had to say;

1) Khalif Kairo

The lavish businessman who deals with car imports posted both on his X and Instagram accounts revealing he'd not be protesting today.

Kairo had this to say, "I was in the front line when guys were shot in parliament, I've been in the lines in all the protests, I want to tell guys we've had a very big win we saw the government climb down. I feel if we go back to the streets we might erode what we've achieved.I feel we need to give dialogue a chance, they've seen what we can do.

Two factions in government are at war. Both will try to take advantage of our movement to settle scores. We should pull back for a minute and let them sort out their grudges without using the Gen Z revolt as a smokescreen,'

2) Boniface Mwangi

The human rights activist who has been outright vocal and a key person in organized the protests issued a statement advising people not to match to State house despite calling for a 1 million march a few hours earlier.

Through his socials he wrote in part, "We have lost more that enough people. Families are grieving, and their loved ones are yet to be buried.

What happens when Statehouse is invaded? Who runs the country? We have to be careful we don’t get incited into throwing our country into turmoil. Invasion of Statehouse isn’t a solution. Countries are run by institutions, and the presidency is an institution. So if we want to take back our country, we must chart a path that allows that without throwing the country into anarchy,"

3) Hanifa Farsafi

The gospel artist and TV show host said;

"Kenya is not a perfect country and we don't have perfect leaders but there's no such thing as a perfect country with perfect leaders in this earth. Personally, I don't support the march to Occupy State House set for today,"

6) Kimunzi

"Power corrupted Ruto and that's why we lost lives, The same power is corrupting us big accounts . Nimeona TikTok wakisema Kimunzi has said twende state house that was not the message.

The message is loud and clear, Ruto must go but jana niliona watu wakiget shot kwa kichwa. Kindly don't occupy Statehouse. Let's honour our fallen heroes,"
