A mother's desperate search for her son has moved Kenyans to appeal for help.

The woman in an interview with Citizen TV on Wednesday, June 26, shed tears demanding to know the whereabouts of her child Ernest Kanyi.

He is  20 years old.

She joined several other Kenyans at City Mortuary with the hopes of finding his body.

"Ni kijana mdogo hajafikisha miak ishirini."

She pleaded reminding citizens there was an anticipated protest on Thursday, June 27.

“Tena kesho kuna maandamano...,” the woman tearfully told of her agony.

"Tutawachilia tena watoto waende si pia sisi tujitokezee tukufe sote. Sijajua sasa ako wapi. Sina mengine ya kusema aki,".

She last saw him with his phone when he left to join his counterparts

"Those who were with him have told me his phone ilizima when they were leaving. He insisted on leaving with it that way. All those others are back home, but he isn't. Simu yake iko mteja,".

Elsewhere, Human rights defenders are tracking the events that occurred in Nairobi's Githurai area Tuesday night after the anti-tax demonstrations.

Unverified videos claimed to be a gunfight between area residents and anti-riot police, called in to quell violence.
