Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has issued a statement hours after a popular night club affiliated with him was vandalized by angry protestors calling for the rejection of the proposed 2024 Finance Bill.
Through a video shared on his Instagram page, Sudi expressed his disappointment in how things had turned out as he vehemently condemned the actions of Tuesday evening highlighting that he had been personally targetted.
"What transpired on Tuesday, which followed an otherwise peaceful protest by GenZ is unfortunate," started the 44-year-old politician.
The MP went on to intimate that the destruction that occurred on the club known as Timber XO located along the Eldoret, Nairobi road was a calculated move by his competitors to personally attack and cripple him.
Sudi announced he would be taking time off from all political activities as he tried processing all that had undergone.
"However, the magnitude of the loss of lives, looting, and property destruction that happened is appalling and it negates the spirit of our constitution. In my entire life, I have never organized or ill-wished my political competitors and it is shocking when they take advantage of innocent youth and take charge of the peaceful protest to wreak havoc.
Following the mayhem, I have forthwith suspended all my political activities and I'm defenseless to protect all my properties," the last of his post read.
