Globally celebrated thespian and film creative Abel Mutua through his socials has come out to rightly condemn the brute force seen in the streets of Nairobi yesterday evening.
He also weighed in on the public address shared by President William Ruto hours later.
Taking to his Instagram page the veteran actor shared a post of him and fellow entertainment big wig Timothy Kimani aka Njugush looking raggedy in tattered clothes as they posed to appear like rough thugs. He went on to ironically point out how that's how the government always viewed people who opposed it.
Captioning the post with a heavy heart Abel wrote, "what your government sees anytime you fight for your rights... CRIMINALS!!! Sijawahi choka hivi, (I have never been this exhausted) Yenyewe it hits different MWIZI akikuita Jangili,"
Previously, in a joint post with his wife, Judy Nyawira, Abel shared images showcasing their participation in the protests accompanied with a video showing the moment police opened fire using live bullets at unarmed protestors who'd managed to make their way into Parliament.
Captioning the post, Abel expressed how inhumane it was seeing the violence unfold as he eulogized the citizens who'd lost their lives during the demonstrations.
"What happened today is Barbaric to say the very least," started off the father of one.
Finishing up he encouraged netizens not to lose their fight spirit as he still called for the rejection of the now immensely controversial proposed Kenyan finance bill that has cost the lives of several citizens.
"A government that eats its young does not deserve even an ounce of respect! Rest in Peace to the fallen soldiers. We shall not relent, we shall not forget. VIVA!!! #Reject Finance Bill 2024," the last of his caption read.
The Instagram post drew a lot of support from other users gaining over 36 thousand likes and close to 300 comments less than 24 hours since it was put up. Netizens shared their disappointment with the government as they praised the Kenyans who had lost their lives fighting for a better future that they believed in.
